Dr. Yvette Leung went to medical school at the University of Calgary and completed her medical residency at the University of British Columbia. She went on to complete her Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Calgary and an Advanced IBD Fellowship at the University of Chicago prior to becoming faculty as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Calgary. In 2016 she joined Pacific Gastroenterology Associates and is clinical faculty at UBC. Her main clinical focus is Inflammatory Bowel Disease and the safety of biologics during pregnancy.

Her research interests include: pregnancy and IBD, impact of subclinical inflammation on perinatal outcomes, and the psychosocial impact of IBD on young adults.

As an active member of the clinical faculty she is involved in teaching medical students, residents, gastroenterology trainees and gastroenterologists doing advanced training in IBD.

She is co-chair of the Maternofetal Outcomes and Research Canadian Registry – IBD (MORe CaRe).
